Nordic Marine Management, a fast-growing operator of container feeder vessels based in Varna, Bulgaria.
A reliance on a static "trusted" vendor list and email-based communication was causing frequent delivery delays, incorrect parts being supplied, and immense administrative pressure on their lean operations team.
Nordic Marine implemented PRIME Marine's Procurement module, with a focus on deploying the Supplier Portal and utilizing the Vendor Performance Scorecards.

Identified and replaced two key underperforming suppliers within six months
Nordic Marine Management was expanding rapidly, but their procurement process was creating constant operational friction. They were working with long-term suppliers, but had no real data to back up their performance.
"We were operating on gut feeling," says Lars Jensen, Operations Director at Nordic Marine. "A supplier was 'good' because we'd always used them. But in reality, we were constantly firefighting. A critical spare would arrive a day late, forcing a vessel to wait and creating a knock-on effect for the entire schedule. Or the wrong gasket set would arrive in Rotterdam, and our team would be scrambling to find a local replacement. It was chaotic and incredibly stressful.
The core problems were clear:
"The cost of a delayed vessel is astronomical. The price of the spare part is irrelevant if it doesn't arrive on time. We weren't managing our supply chain; we were just reacting to it."

Nordic Marine needed a system that could provide clarity and enforce accountability. They implemented PRIME Marine's Procurement module and made the Supplier Portal the centerpiece of their new strategy.
"We told our key suppliers that this was the new way of doing business," explains Mr. Jensen. "We onboarded them to the portal where they could receive RFQs, acknowledge POs, and upload their invoices and dispatch notices directly. This alone eliminated hundreds of emails a week."
The real game-changer, however, was the Vendor Performance Scorecard. "For the first time, we had automatic, objective data. The system tracked every order and automatically calculated an On-Time Delivery (OTD) rate and a Quality Acceptance rate for each supplier. The data spoke for itself.

The impact of a data-driven approach was immediate and transformative.
1. Unprecedented Reliability and Uptime
By tracking performance, Nordic Marine was able to have fact-based conversations with their suppliers. This focus on accountability lifted their fleet-wide On-Time Delivery rate to 98%. Knowing that the right part would arrive on time allowed them to plan maintenance with confidence and minimize vessel downtime.
2. Drastic Improvement in Quality
The system automatically linked anyNon-Conformity Report for a faulty part back to the supplier who provided it, directly impacting their quality score. This transparency led to a 95% reduction in incorrect or poor-quality deliveries, as suppliers knew their performance was being measured.
3. A More Strategic, Less Stressed Team
With suppliers managing their own POs and invoices through the portal, Nordic Marine's team saw a 40% reduction in administrative work. "Our team now focuses on strategic tasks—analyzing performance data and negotiating contracts—instead of just chasing paperwork," says Mr. Jensen. "Within six months, the data allowed us to confidently replace two long-term, underperforming suppliers with more reliable partners, eliminating a major source of our previous headaches."
"The PRIME Marine platform gave us the visibility we needed to build a truly resilient supply chain. We no longer hope our suppliers will perform; we have the data to ensure they do. It has become a core part of our operational strategy"
